Pillars of Food Safety facilitates the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification and ServSafe ALCOHOL online examination at the Pillars of Food Safety Online Mobile Exam Lab in Northern California and is open to anyone who completes any prerequisites and wants to receive there certificate the same day by completing their ServSafe certification exam online. For in-person administration of your ServSafe® Certification exam online and to meet with a ServSafe® Registered Examination Proctor please register. 
 

To Register for the ServSafe Manager or ServSafe ALCOHOL Online Exam Session w/ Proctor:

 

Examinees must complete any one prerequisite before attempting the online exam for the first time.

Please use the buttons above to access registration to meet with a ServSafe® Registered Examination Proctor, to take the ServSafe® Manager or ServSafe ALCOHOL Online Exam.  Once at the registration panel, select an available date from the drop down menu. Adjust quantity and click register.  Your purchase confirmation and ticket for entry will be sent to the email address you use during registration.  If you do not receive purchase confirmation and ticket for entry, registration is not complete.  Please appear at the Proctor's Exam Site at the time chosen for your confirmed appointment.

Select your desired training option:  The ServSafe® Manager Online Course or The ServSafe® Manager Book. The ServSafe® Manage Book is sold separate. Either method for Independent Study is available and 1 study method is required before attempting the exam for the first time. Select your desired online exam date by using the drop down menu on the upper right of the registration panel above, select quantity, and click Register.

NOTE: The ticket option you choose may limit the registration options to within 28 days of the exam date to allow ample study time prior to taking the final exam when you purchase an Independent Study Training Option, The ServSafe® Manager Book or The ServSafe® Manager Online Course.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  

Complete registration by 8pm the day before beginning the online course or online exam. Deadline for purchase of the book is 28 days in advance of the final exam date.  The system will not allow for purchase of the book within 28 days of the next exam date. Select an exam date at least 28 days in the future to complete the purchase of the book. The lead time allows for delivery and receipt and ample study time.

INDEPENDENT SELF-STUDY TRAINING PREREQUISITE:

The ServSafe® Manager Book 6th edition and the Exam session with Proctor are sold separate. Purchase together and receive the best, most economical and most complete training package. Purchase includes the 80 question ServSafe® Diagnostic Test and the ServSafe® Practice Exam shipped with the book. The ServSafe® Diagnostic Test and the ServSafe® Practice Exam aide in determining an examinees individual strength and weakness and when used correctly, page 4 of the diagnostic answer key will direct the individual to areas that need more focus prior to class.

The ServSafe® Online Manager Course and the Exam session with Proctor are sold separate.  The ServSafe® Online Course is based on the ten chapters of The ServSafe® Manager Book. It is accessible online for 1 year after purchase however the online course must be completed before attempt at the final certification exam at the Proctor's exam site. The Student will experience interaction with 10 different modules representing each chapter of the ServSafe® Manager Book that must be completed at least once before the post course exam can be completed. The Student is presented lecture and quizzes at the end of each chapter, and a post course examination. The ServSafe® Online Course can be repeated as many times necessary to score above 85% on the Post Online Course Exam. Scores above 85% on the Post Online Course Exam have the best opportunity to pass the final certification exam. The ServSafe® Online Course takes a minimum of 8 hours to complete and may take more depending on the user.

The ServSafe® Manager Online Course Code will arrive by email the first next business day after purchase or earlier. The Manager Book will arrive within 1-9 days by US PRIORITY MAIL  or UPS, complete with all training material.

Our ServSafe® Registered Examination Proctor hosts the Pillars of Food Safety Online Exam Lab in Northern California and  Pasadena California at the designated meeting place as listed at ServSafe.

Examinees must pre-register for their exam appointment  by using this links on this page to the registration page, then appear at the chosen exam site at the date and time on their ticket or as arranged with the proctor by email subsequent registration.  Upon meeting and if required the proctor will provide instructions to join the lab network before administration of the online exam can begin.

Examinees must bring their own personal,  wifi ready, Windows or Mac, personal computer, laptop, macbook or full size iPad, iPhone or Windows mobile tablet for use taking their online exam.

During the exam session the proctor is present with examinees and may share your screen and keyboard to further assist in the facilitation of the online exam at anytime.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the exam?  The exam is 90 questions. All Multiple Choice.  You get 2 hours to complete the exam.

How long does it take to get my certificate?  The certificate is delivered online upon successfull completion

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?  Please prepare to present your Valid ID, the Proctor will need to look at it at before the test can begin.  There is no age limit.

What do I need to bring to the event?  At Pillars of Food Safety Online Exam Lab, certification examinations are taken online with a live ServSafe® Registered Examination Proctor. You will need your wifi ready laptop computer either Mac or Windows. You may also use your full size ipad or mobile tablet device.   

Do I need to buy an online exam voucher too?  No. The online exam voucher with exam access code is included.  If you already  purchased one, please contact us for instructions on reducing your ticket cost.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?  Yes. Each student examinee must register or be registered. The person attending needs to be named on the registration ticket.  The registration is for the attendee who is seeking the certification. The Examination Proctor validates identity of all examinees. Please include all required information indicated by a red astrisk at the time of registration. Remember your id and password at Eventbrite to access your registration info.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?  No, You do not have to bring your ticket however your printed ticket contains other information, terms and conditions and by purchase you make binding agreements.  Please read it.

What is the refund policy?  Advance purchase of a seat registration is required and is non-refundable.  Other terms and conditions are printed on your ticket.  

What happens if I fail?  If you fail,you must register again  for another online exam session to take the exam a second or third time. We will advise you of required training, if any,  before your second or third attempt.  You may attempt the exam a second time as soon as 24 hours after your first if your score is not lower than 74%.  Your third attempt may not commence for 30 days following your second attempt.  Scores 73% and below require successfull completion of prerequiste training before your second or third attempt.  If you do not pass within three attempts, one may not attempt the exam until 1 year has lapsed from the time of the third attempt.

Can I register someone/ can someone register me?  YES.  The person purchasing can complete registration for themself, and or other registrants. 

What happens if I need to change or cancel ? Once registration is complete, you may change or cancel anytime.
