The ServSafe® Manager training is designed for Managers, Chefs, Owners and others with supervisory responsibilities in the food supply management chain or the food service kitchen and restaurant industry. You will learn about food borne illness and how to prevent it. You will learn about how to train employees in food sanitation.
Other topics covered are personal hygiene, food borne illness, receiving, storage, preparing, serving food, and other food safety regulations. The class meets regulatory requirements established by the California Retail Food Code and the Certification exam is accredited by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Conference for Food Protection(CFP). Examinees who pass the exam earn the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification from the National Restaurant Association.
Pillars of Food Safety presents the ServSafe® presentation portion of training in a live conference setting with a ServSafe® Certified Instructor and we administer the exam by ServSafe Registered Proctor. The Lecture is presented in English only and the online exam is limited to English, Spanish and Chinese only however in addition to English, Spanish, and Chinese; French Canadian, Japanese and Korean are available by paper booklet and scantron answer sheet version with at least 14 calendar days advance notice of an exam session. Indicate your language preference during registration.
Training consists of Independent Study at home, work or school and is a prerequisite of anyone seeking certification before the first attempt at the certification exam. There are three methods of approved training, The ServSafe® Manager Online Course, The ServSafe® Manager Book 6th Edition, and what ties use of either those methods together, is the third method, the live class by the ServSafe® Certified Instructor.
Attending class is key. It is required of the first time examinee, It is required if your certificate is expired, it is required if you purchase the book. It is not required if you purchased and used the ServSafe online course and passed the post course test with an 85% or better and it is not required if your ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is current and valid.
